What is a Virtual Piano?
A virtual piano is an online instrument that reproduces the look and sound of a real piano. Load it in your browser and start playing instantly—no downloads or sign-ups. You’ll get realistic sound, responsive keys, and helpful tools like sustain, note labels, a metronome, zoom, and full-screen mode.
How to Use the Virtual Piano
- Play with keyboard or mouse/touch: press the on-screen keys or use your computer keyboard. On desktop, the top row letters map to white keys and number keys map to black keys. On mobile, tap and slide across the keys.
- Show key labels: toggle Real Keys to display the corresponding computer keys on the middle octaves. Tap again to switch to Max Keys and show labels across the full range.
- Use the sustain pedal: keep notes ringing naturally by leaving Sustain on (default).
- Choose letter notes: switch between ABC and Do-Re-Mi note names on the keys.
- Practice with a metronome: set BPM or time signature to tighten your timing.
- Zoom & full screen: zoom to show five octaves (60 keys) or expand to the full 88-key layout. Full-screen removes distractions.
